Had a great stay in a 2 bedroom apartment in Woolloomooloo. Woolloomooloo is a cute little area with a few pubs and restaurants along Finger Warf. Also, a just a quick walk up the McElhorne stairs up to MacLeary Street where you will find several nice cafes, restaurants and shops. Woolloomooloo is not too far from the "touristy" parts of Sydney. Walking distance to the beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens and the Art Gallery of New South Wales. If you are a "walker", easy walk across the gardens to the Opera House and Ferries. As for the apartment it was spacious, with a nice kitchen, dining area and living room. Perfect alternative to hotel.

This apartment was large and fully kitted out with everything one needs. It was 2 bedrooms, both with king beds. The master bedroom bed was very comfortable - we didn't use the 2nd bedroom. The view is pretty spectacular from all rooms of downtown Sydney and the Harbour Bridge (but the view of the Opera House was just seeing the top points - you really had to look for them - not really visible). There are floor to ceiling windows/sliding glass doors out to a balcony that runs the entire width of the flat. The lounge and dining area were comfortable and room enough for 6. The kitchen was nicely done and well equipped (but there is no cappuccino machine which was in the listing). There is a utility room with a washer and dryer, both worked very well. There is plenty of eating options within walking distance and it is a short walk through the Royal Botanic Gardens to the Opera House and Circular Quay and through the Domain into the CBD. The parking garage did come in very handy as we did have a car. Issues we had: trying to find the place is interesting as Dowling Street has a top and bottom to it with a park in the middle. Our GPS kept taking us to the top with no access to the bottom where we needed to be. It took us a while and finally stopped to get help in accessing this street. I think we could have been informed of this when we picked up the key. The apartment itself is a bit tired. The drapes are torn and fraying at places, the shower in the ensuite had a lot of mildew and around the sink was black as well - plus the ensuite does not have a bathtub, only a shower stall. The 'family' bathroom does have a shower (mildew) and bath. The walk in closet had quite a bit of 'stuff' stored in there (a roll away bed, a large foam mattress, old table, pictures, cushions) which took up the space we could have put our luggage. I must comment that the air conditioning was fabulous. Really cooled the flat down in minutes! All in all, this was a good place to stay and definitely better than staying in a hotel. We would consider staying here again.
